If we look out of the small alleyway now from Hertford Street into Broadgate, we can see the Cathedral Lanes shopping centre and a silly tent above Lady Godiva's statue. Thank goodness the tent finally disappeared in 2008.
Back in 1892 it looked very different - it was a busy shopping street.
