Steven Orland's "Days Out" Photo Gallery
On the 30th March 2005 my mum and dad took me to Birmingham Symphony Hall to see my friend Gordon Giltrap in the best concert - ever! We even sat on the very front row.
He played with the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra and lots of other very special guests including Raymond Burley and Rick Wakeman. Even Jasper Carrott came on to introduce the show.
He played all my favourite pieces of music, especially Here Comes the Sun, A Dublin Day, Appalachian Dreaming and A Christmas Carol which he played with Ray.... but he left my very favourite until the end - Lucifer's Cage!
After the show Gordon made time to talk to me and it made me very proud indeed. I hope that one day he will come to Coventry and play his guitar here.
It's so nice in St. Agnes, we're going back again in 2005.
A place that we like to visit for a quiet walk is Ryton Pools. 
Amazingly, you can see the old cathedral spire in the middle of Coventry from Ryton!

Another nice place that we went to was Charlecote Mill. (Above)
The kind man and lady who own the mill allowed my sister Mandy and me pull the rope to hoist a sack of corn up into the roof and then we watched it pour into the giant mill stone which ground it up into smooth flour.
It was very dusty in there!
Near to the mill is the village of Hampton Lucy and here is the lovely little church there.
This church also has a Coventry connection.... in the war, this was where the ancient stained glass was stored in safety after being removed from the old cathedral before it was bombed in November 1940.
In year 1 at Ravensdale School, we all had to take it in turns to look after Ben the Bear for a weekend.
When we took him to Brinklow we told him to stay in the car while we walked up the steep hill there called a Motte and Bailey. Later when we looked at my photos, we realised that Ben had visited the church while we weren't looking!!!
Here's a squirrel in St. Michael's churchyard in town. We see lots and lots of squirrels there.
Our main holiday in 2004 was in Swanage. It's a very nice place and this is a rock which sticks out of the sea called "Old Harry"!
From the town of Matlock we can see a big castle on a hill.
Another place for a nice walk is Long Lawford near Rugby. It's still nice even though you can see the tall chimney in the photo below.
Above and to the right is the River Avon next to a village called Ashow near to Stoneleigh.
Both photos were taken from the same bridge but one was looking slightly towards the sun and one was away from it. It makes a big difference to the picture.
We also went to Lichfield this year (2004) to see their huge cathedral. It's a beautiful building with three spires... and we saw a duck there too!
Near to the Leicester Space Centre is an old Pumping Station museum. I spotted this model train in there.
We like to go bowling too. Here is my sister again after her go.
On the way back from Exmouth in February 2005, we stopped at Wells to see their cathedral - and have some dinner too!
